Gooood morning bloggers.

Okay, so today is Thursday.

THURSDAY!

Which means….one day until FRIDAY!

I’m excited…..

So, as I was perusing Google Reader this morning, one of the blogs I follow, Veronica over at http://veronicaarmstrong.com/, was doing a “look back” on her photography.

She’s amazing.

Her pictures are amazing.

And I’ve already learned so much from the tips she gives on her blog.

Today, she challenged us to take a look back at the pictures we took a year ago.

Now, my DSLR is not even a year old yet. Needless to say, the pictures I took with my P&S camera were less than high quality.

Take the picture above.

Apart from my beautiful mother & adorable Mr. Liam, the picture is average, at best.

Average as in – you went and bought a camera from Walmart and took this and this is what you got.

There’s no need to comment on what I would have done differently.

Mainly…I would’ve gotten a better camera.

Which I did.

Like…3 months later.

I can’t believe how much I’ve learned about photography & using my DSLR correctly. It’s pretty mind-boggling.

I’ve always been the person to take all the pictures.

I get this a lot:

“Oh, you’re taking pictures so I won’t bother. Will you send them to me?”

It makes me happy.

I’m the designated photographer, no matter how amateur the photos may look.

I took this last night while Kenz was getting her hair chopped off:

 Pretty big difference, eh?

The white balance on this isn’t great; I had to do a lot of post processing to try to get that right, and I still didn’t come out with what I wanted [I’m working on it]. But I love the moment I caught here. She’s biting her lip like she’s scared to death of what this lady’s going to do to her beautiful hair [a feeling I am familiar with].

You live & you learn, right? I’m getting better and better with each picture that I take.

And maybe – just maybe – one day I can make money off this venture & Matt and I can agree that I really do need this lens:

24-70mm, f2.8/l

I need it, I say!

Later, kids.
